ELKS Scholarships
LEGACY AWARD: any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2014, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2014, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2017. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP: Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify. ELKS LODGE #1367 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AND THE WNCC SCHOLARSHIPS: Must be used at WNCC, up to fifteen awards, ranging from $400-$1,500. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application.
NEBRASKA ELKS ASSOCIATION VOCATONAL SCHOLARSHIP GRANT: These are open to high school seniors who plan to attend a Trade School, Technical School or Community College. The applicant must plan to attend a two year or less vocational-technical program for an associate degree. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application.
Hagan Scholarship Foundation
Eligibility Requirements: Must be a student in the 2017 high school graduating class, must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, must have scored a 23 or higher on the ACT, must enroll in a four year college in the fall semester, must work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of each academic year of college, FAFSA EFC must be less than $7,500. HorizonWest Diesel Technician Program
HorizonWest Inc. Sponsorship Program for Farm Diesel Technicians. Tuition, tools and books will be paid by HorizonWest Inc. up to a maximum of $18,000. Applications are due by February 15th, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application and more information.

NMC and Central Community College
NMC, in partnership with the Diesel Technology Program at Central Community College in Hastings, NE, offers a two-year sponsorship at NMC Cat locations in NE. Please visit NMCs website or see Ms. Dunn for more information.
The Vada Kinman Oldfield Scholarship
Applicants must write an essay “Why This Nebraska Veteran Should Be Recognized and Honored.” $2,000. Please see Ms. Dunn for more information.
Nebraska Chapter of Acacia Fraternity
Applicant must be a MALE who plans to attend UNL. Scholarship is worth $1,000 and $500. Applications are due Jan. 31, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for more information.

Alliance Housing Authority
Students must reside at Alliance Housing agency. $1,000 scholarship, to obtain an application you may call the Alliance Housing Authority at 308/762-5130 or stop by the office at 300 South Potash #27, or see Ms. Dunn for a copy of the application.
Uno Phi Delta Legacy Scholarship
Only high school seniors whose parents, guardian, or grandparent is a current member of PDK are eligible for this scholarship. Essay requirement. Scholarship value: $500, due date February 15, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for a copy of the application.
Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship Program
Applicants must be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of Dept of Nebraska, The American Legion or POW, MIA, KIA or an veteran that was a current Legion member at the time of death. $500.00. Jim Hurlbert Memorial Baseball Scholarship
Eligibility is open to Nebraska American Legion Baseball players in their last year of Legion Baseball eligibility and/or graduating senior. Applicants must attend school in Nebraska and must have maintained a GPA in the upper 50 percent of his/her graduating class. Deadline is June 15, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application.
Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association
Applicant must plan on becoming a teacher or other related occupations, such as counselors or media specialists. Must have an ACT of 22. Deadline is February 10, 2017. Please visit www.nrcsa.net for more information.

2017 Cabela’s Women in Leadership Scholarship
Any female student graduating from a Nebraska high school in the Spring 2017 and planning to begin college in the fall 2017. Deadline is February 6, 2017. Please visit www.thehugefoundation.org or www.educationquest.org.
Central Panhandle Mutual Aid District Scholarship
Essay contest for Nebraska high school seniors and college students based upon the topic “What are the benefits of having a Volunteer Fire Department in your Community”. $300 scholarship, applications are due March 15, 2017. Please seen Ms. Dunn for more information.
2017 Minutemen Scholarship
Must currently be in the Nebraska National Guard or eligible for enlistment. Please see Ms. Dunn for more information.
Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc. Scholarship
Applicants must be a dependent of a Chimney Rock employee or consumer. There is a $1,000 and two $500 college scholarships. Deadline is February 1, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application.
Panhandle Rural Electric Membership Association (PREMA) Scholarship
Applicants must be a dependent of a PREMA member or PREMA employee. Deadline is February 10, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application.
Nebraska Cooperative Council Education Foundation Scholarship
Applicant must be a dependent of a parent or guardian who is the member of a cooperative in good standing as a member of the Nebraska Cooperative Council for at least 5 years (such as PREMA or WESTCO). The application is only online at www.nebr.coop/foundation/scholarships
America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarships

Nursing Schools Almanac
This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, ADN and BSN programs. Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska Foundation

Nebraska Press Association
Applicant must pursue newspaper journalism education at a Nebraska university. Deadline is February 17, 2017. Applications can be found at www.nebpress.com
  1. Applicants must be pursuing an education in an area related to agriculture. Applicant must plan to return to the WESTCO trade territory following graduation. Deadline is March 17, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for an application.
  2. Applicants must pursue a two- or four- year degree in agronomy, crop production or closely related fields. Deadline is February 10, 2017. Please see Ms. Dunn for a copy of the application.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Panhandle Alumni Scholarship
Applicant must be planning to attend UNL. There will be three to four scholarships awarded, with at least one scholarship being awarded to a student majoring in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. 2017 BBB Student of Integrity Awards

Nebraska Actuaries Club and the Nebraska Insurance Federation Scholarship
